Aiguard, a gradual and controlled release gel.
Apiguard is a patented gel whose special formulation allows to release thymus gradually. It acts like a sponge whose jets sag or diverge when the temperature changes. When the temperature rises, it increases the thymol volatility but simultaneously clots the gel jets by regulating the release of the active substance.

Apiguard has two complementary actions. First, the thymol vapors spread through the colony thanks to the beat of the bee's wings and attack varroa by inhalation. Work bees then transport the gel through the colony through physical contact with each other, exerting in this case an acaricidal contact action.
